Here are some pearls of wisdom from Bonnie:
- Don’t get married for the wrong reasons.
- You don’t have to be married to live with someone or have a relationship.
- Men are not superior to women and we don’t have to worship them.
- A woman can financially support herself if she puts her mind to it.
- Nothing material is worth fighting for.
- Remain friends, if possible, with all your ex’s.
- It's better to live in a box in a park than a mansion with a man you don’t love.
- A person doesn’t change, even if you marry them 3 times.
- If something isn’t going to matter when you lie down to die, never allow it to upset you.
- Don’t hold a grudge (it only hurts you and makes YOU miserable).
- If you react with negative emotions because of what someone else said or did to you, you give THEM the power.
- People make many wonderful promises to you when they are feeling desperate because they no longer control you.
- Everything that happens in our life is a direct result from a decision we’ve made. Accept the responsibility and don’t throw it on others.
- When we fail, we need to concentrate on the recovery process and not the failure.
- Sometimes, silence really is golden.
- Give relationships time. The first six months or year is NOT an example of how the relationship will be for a lifetime.
- If something seems wrong, it usually is.
- There is actually something to a woman’s intuition.
- If someone abuses you get out now! Don’t give them an opportunity to do it again (because they will).
If I were in charge:
- A marriage certificate would cost $5000.00 and a divorce would cost $50.00.
- The President of the United States would be female.
- All young boys would wear their pants waist high.
- Rapists would be castrated or euthanized OR both.
- All men on self-proclaimed pedestals, would be knocked off.
- Women would receive free college tuition.
- Preachers would not be allowed to propagate.
- There would be a law to neuter or spay every pet.
- Anyone who abused animals would be thrown in the Lion’s Den (See, I did learn something in church).
- Money WOULD grow on trees.
- Every State in the US would have beach property.
- Every woman who wanted plastic surgery could do so, at the government’s expense.
- Any hairdresser who screwed up your hair would be shaven bald.
- Every man would experience PMS and a menstrual cycle at least once in his life time.
